For Assassin’s Creed Fans, June 12 Is Likely to Be a Big Day

Anticipated for release in the autumn of 2024, Assassin’s Creed Red will provide enhanced visuals, new gameplay elements, and a setting in feudal Japan.

Since Assassin’s Creed Nexus and Mirage were both released not long ago, many fans may be wondering when we can expect to hear anything about future games in the series. After all, Assassin’s Creed Red is supposedly set to arrive in 2024, so any news on it has to be very soon. Fortunately, there’s good cause for fans to commemorate June 12 as a significant day for the series. Though not officially announced just yet, that date would be perfect for an Assassin’s Creed-centric Ubisoft Forward.

Fans may anticipate a plethora of gaming news during the first two weeks of June, as Geoff Keighley just announced his Summer Game Fest event for June 7. Ubisoft has had its own event, Ubisoft Forward, for the previous several years, but what other firms do is anyone’s guess. A number of them have previously broken news about Assassin’s Creed, and that trend is not going away anytime soon.

The Upcoming Ubisoft Game Will Carry a Secrecy Blade

June 12 is the most probable day for a Ubisoft Forward if one occurs in the month of June. For whatever reason, June 12 has become a regular date for Ubisoft Forwards, with events held on that day in 2020, 2021, and 2023. With the exception of 2022, the gaming giant has always held tournaments on June 12. An exception to this norm occurred in 2022 with the publication of a Ubisoft Forward focusing on Skull & Bones in early July.

Therefore, Ubisoft could choose to change up their event this year, albeit it seems improbable. As a result of the Assassin’s Creed franchise’s ongoing success, Ubisoft has decided to go “all-in” with it. Even if Assassin’s Creed Red does come out in 2024, it doesn’t guarantee that Ubisoft will not showcase AC at Ubisoft Forward. Fans can expect a more in-depth look than that, given the number of Assassin’s Creed games now in production. Even if AC Red is the only performer that day, it should still be a terrific one. Of course, this is just conjecture.

New Assassin’s Creed Video Games on the Way

The majority of Ubisoft’s nine Assassin’s Creed titles, allegedly stored at a hub named AC Infinity, are now under production, according to a number of sources. While news about Jade, Red, and Hexe is more likely to reach fans, they shouldn’t discount the possibility of an announcement on the long-rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.

  • Assassin’s Creed Jade
  • Assassin’s Creed Red
  • Assassin’s Creed Hexe
  • Assassin’s Creed Invictus
  • Assassin’s Creed Nebula
  • Assassin’s Creed Raid
  • Assassin’s Creed Echoes
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake

Ubisoft was apparently discussing Assassin’s Creed Nexus 2, a VR sequel, before Nexus’ release. After AC Nexus’ “disappointing” sales, it may be on hold.

Assassin’s Creed Red

The next game in production is Assassin’s Creed Red, which Ubisoft’s early 2024 financial report said would release between April 2024 and March 2025. Given the franchise’s preference for October and November, many expect an autumn 2024 release. The game’s only known setting is Feudal Japan. Otherwise, the title is set for huge news.

Assassin’s Creed Red rumors and leaks abound. Some of the more intriguing are:

  • Two protagonists
    • Another Shinobi called Naoe, this one with ties to the actual world Nagao Fujibayashi
    • One actual samurai, Yasuke, hails from Africa.
  • Gameplay features: control the lighting and extinction of torches, grapple with an adversary’s stance meter, navigate a larger but smaller terrain than Odyssey, deal with dynamic weather, and enlist enemy commanders as spies.
  • A complete revamp of the parkour animations and system.
  • An individualized Stronghold said to be larger than AC Valhalla’s colony.
  • Some examples of gadgets include smoke bombs, kunai, shuriken, and bells.
  • They claim that ray-tracing support makes the graphics better.
  • Reportedly, future portions will replace those set in the present in Assassin’s Creed Red.

Black Flag, the Remake of Assassin’s Creed

The remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has reportedly begun development at Ubisoft Singapore. This last point generally implies that fans shouldn’t have high expectations for details, and they should be realistic about what they do want, such gameplay. Just confirming that this game is in development, however, would shake up the series and serve as excellent marketing material for future announcements.

“Hexe” from Assassin’s Creed

With Assassin’s Creed Red came the reveal of AC Hexe, the most enigmatic of the next games. So yet, fans have only seen a single trailer, and it’s filled with spoilers. The usage of the Magi’s Alphabet, the codename Hexe (Witch in German), and allusions to Mephisto indicate a German Witch Hunt. According to yet another Assassin’s Creed rumor, the heroine of Assassin’s Creed: Hexe will be called Elsa, making history as the series’ first female protagonist to stand alone. In the end, it’s unclear as this one is further down the road than AC Red, but since it’s the next in line, some more details wouldn’t be shocking.

Jade, the Assassin’s Creed

Developed and released by Tencent, AC Jade is a smartphone game that takes place in Ancient China during the Qin Dynasty. The gameplay focuses on assassination, traditional parkour, and stealth. Tencent is allegedly delaying Assassin’s Creed Jade internally due to team reorganization, although it’s understandable that Ubisoft and Tencent would want to see this game played. It will still launch within the next year or two, right among the more well-known AC games.

Echoes, Raid, Nebula, and Assassin’s Creed Invictus

At the very end of the road, you’ll only hear vague confirmations or unfounded rumors regarding Invictus, Nebula, Assassin’s Creed Red, and Echoes. Even while fans shouldn’t hold their breath for any details on these games, they’re nevertheless intriguing if the reports are accurate.
